  Jesus First Assembly (Scarborough) is a family friendly church situated in the heart Scarborough. Our goal is to equip the saints and reach the lost for Christ. Through Cell groups, the believer's life is nurtured and strengthened. With various ministries, we facilitate different ways of serving the Lord and serving one another. Our prayer is for God to have His will done in our city.

IN THE BEGINNING

	We simply started as a group of people with a felt-need of forming a spiritual community that can provide for us the biblical foundations for godly living. It will be a place where we can freely express our devotion to God as a body of believers, as a
congregation.  The church was then started under the name “Jesus First Assemblies of Canada”. It became known to most of us in it’s abbreviated name J.F.A.C..

THE NAME CHANGE

 During the registration process, we sought to be affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. This move helped us get a denominational covering benefit that will speed our  registration papers with Government of Canada. There is just one minor change needed, the name needs to change. 

LAUNCHING OF J.F.M.

Since we are changing the name, why not change it to accommodate the future. Different names needed to be assigned to distinguish the corporate body from the local churches. J.F.A.C. was renamed “Jesus First Ministries”. This corporate body will be the central point that will facilitate present and future church planting projects. The two church projects at that time were then named “Jesus First Assembly (Scarborough)” and “Jesus First Assembly (Brampton)”.

 The ministry continued to grow and more assemblies were later added. A Corporate Board was formed, composed of the pastors of the local assemblies and selected leaders, to give direction to this new set up. Overall, leaders were trained and groomed. New connections were established. Mission opportunities were opened. Ministry skills were developed and networking with other churches and ministries expanded. J.F.A. Scarborough was greatly blessed under J.F.M. and has always been an active participant and supporter of the yearly corporate projects.

THE NEXT STAGE  

	In 2001, there was a need to reorganize. J.F.M. must be relieved of the great burden of overseeing the local assemblies so that the ministry can pursue its new global mandate. The local assemblies were then released to the supervision of their respective districts. Today,  J.F.A. Scarborough, we are fully accountable to the Eastern Ontario District
of the P.A.O.C. while remaining in fellowship with J.F.M. and the rest of the Jesus First family. We will continue to declare that Jesus is first!
